"The family, as we have traditionally known it, is such a refuge of safety. When true values and basic virtues undergird the families of society, hope will conquer despair, and faith will triumph over doubt". President Thomas S. Monson

Beauty and the Beast Musical

A wonderful family event this was. It was also a perfect day in between all the rain we have been having. The tickets we got free from our friends the Moultries. Thanks guys, we really enjoyed this play. It was done exactly like the movie, with a few added parts. The voices were identical to the real ones. Pictures were not allowed to be taken during the play, but we took a few before and at intermission. I guess the only negative part was that it was pretty long. Adelynn could not hold still for the whole time. But it was great.
This was before it started.
Madison was a good baby
Adelynn and Dave
Addy laying with the girls during intermission. She couldn't wait to get the wiggles out.
Having fun with Briana.

Disney's A Christmas Carol train tour

This was a one time free event where this train stops at certain locations in the US. The movie stars Jim Carrey. It happened to stop just 20mil past of Salt Lake so I took the girls up there to check it out. Dave got home early that day from his clinicals so he stayed home with Madison. Unfortunately when we got there, there was a 3 hour wait to actually go inside and get the tour. In no way were we going to wait that long. Plus I had to be back to feed Madison. So instead we stayed for about an hour and just did the other things they had going on. They had lots of cool trains, big and very old. I had fun taking pictures of the girls.

This was the line, it took 45 minutes from this point, but the line wrapped around in the train station. They had a few people dressed up singing Christmas carols. It was kinda weird in the middle of June. They must have been hot with all that clothing.
The girls put there names in for a few drawing, including tickets to see the Jonas Brothers here at the Stadium of fire in Provo on 4th of July. Here they are signing there names on a giant poster, and received free Jonas Brothers necklaces.
Inside the train station they had a little train. But you could not touch it.
So what does Addy do? She touches it. Apparently she didn't want to listen. They had to stop the whole train because of her touching it.
Here is one of the big trains. This train station was so cool.
Some of these pictures look better in different colors. The girls had fun taking different poses.

This was an Air Force train.

This we took for their Dad for father's day.
They all got backpacks from the police dept as a reminder to buckle up.

Hershey's Track and Field Competition

I entered the girls into a competition for track and field games here in our city. I thought it would be fun for them, something to do, and plus it was free. Can't go wrong there. The events they chose to do were the 100 meter dash, the long jump, and the softball throw. They were placed in the same age group for the 13-14 year old girls.

Here Alicia is getting ready to do the 100 meter dash. Briana didn't want to do this one. GO Alicia, Go! we were cheering her on.
Darn, She came in third place. But still had fun running her best. Alicia's softball throw. The best out of three and she got 101.ft. She was the best girl so far the guy told her.
Briana's softball throw. She got 92.ft. Both of them won, and were able to compete again in the next competition.
Alicia at the long jump. This picture cracks me up. She looks like she is riding an invisible bike. =)
Again another funny one. Just love Briana's hair.
This was the second competition for the softball throw held the week after.
Alicia getting ready to throw. Best out of three was 108 ft. So better then her last one.
Briana gets 106ft, for best out of three. Alot better then last time.
Both the girls won and received ribbons. Alicia won first place, Briana second. They have been asked to go to the State competition now, but is to far for us to drive. So were skipping it this time. Great Job Girls!

Life Flight Helicopter

On our way home from the library we saw the Life Flight Helicopter just in front of the fire station. They allowed families to come around and take a look. So we took Addy and she was so excited. I was surprised she would wear the helmet. Doesn't she look so cute? Dave hopes to one day fly along in these when he finishes up school. That would just be awesome for him.

Halloween

On Halloween we went to a block party that our neighbors have been throwing every year before we Trick or Treat. Everyone brings something to share, and we sit, eat, and mingle before we take the kids out. Mommy and Addy
Addy kicking back on the grass. Her costume seemed a bit bulky for her to sit still.
When we got back to the house Dave had taken Addy trick or treating, while I stayed home to pass out candy. We had a lot of trick or treaters. Last year I ran out of candy, but I made sure I stocked up enough this time. After an hour or so, Dave and Addy came back, and she was excited to tell me that she had a good time. She couldn't wait to go back out again. Sorry I don't have pictures of her trick or treating.

After we went trick or treating another one of our friends was having a party. They had lots of games and stuff for the kids. Here is Addy playing one the games that she just loved, "the spider web" she had to throw Velcro balls to get them to stick. She did pretty good. We had a fun time.

Wee Read at the Library

Wee Read is a free program at the Pleasant Grove library for children up to age 3. They read them books and sing songs. I take Addy every Thursday morning and every week is a new theme. Today was Halloween theme, and the kids could wear their costumes. Addy is a mouse this Halloween. Doesn't she just look adorable in her costume? Sitting on the mat, close to mommy. She doesn't usually like to go up front with the kids.
Addy holding the handout for the songs we sing together. Look at that cute face.
Here is a back view. See her cute tail in the back? All the kids stood up for a song.
After they read books and sing songs, they bring out baskets full of books for the parents to read to their kids. In this picture Addy picked one of the books on the table instead.
After we were done reading, Addy got a special treat, a Halloween sucker. Then we go upstairs to check out some more books to bring home. The library is always a fun day for her.

Fall Festival

This Friday night was our Church Fall Harvest Festival. Dave and I are the Activities Committee, and so I was in charge of the sign. Here is the picture of it. I had also made a few for the games as well. It was fun, I like to get creative. Addy was so good while we ran about the whole night helping out. For not having a nap, I guess I can say she was really good. After everyone had their dinner and the night sorta calmed down, I took her over to the face painting table. One of the young women's gave her a butterfly on her cheek. It was the first time that she actually allowed someone to paint her face. She was excited and ran to tell Dave after. Then we went to make an Indian hat. She is still to small to have been able to do the donut contest. But it looked like fun. We all had a good time.
Here she is watching Daddy clean up. We had an activity to make Ghost Suckers, and that is what she has here in her mouth. She just loves suckers.
A close up. I guess I should have taken one closer then this, you can't really see the butterfly to well.

The activities committee had set up a fall display that really turned out cute. Some of the kids kinda savaged it. This was when the party was nearly ending. But I was still able to capture a few cute poses of Addy. I wish I could have taken more of the party, but we were just so busy. We had a great turnout, more then we expected. It was great.
