"The family, as we have traditionally known it, is such a refuge of safety. When true values and basic virtues undergird the families of society, hope will conquer despair, and faith will triumph over doubt". President Thomas S. Monson

Adelynn's turns 4

Adelynn's 4th Birthday party

So Disney has a new princess, and her name is Tiana. Addy loved the movie "The Princess and the Frog" It came out just before Addy's birthday. When planning for her birthday, she asked if she can have a princess and the frog party. I thought... Cool. This is something I haven't done before. Plus Addy's favorite color is green. So I was excited to plan this one. I love planning parties!

I made this sign for the princess's as they walked in.
Found this at the dollar store.
Girls first stop as they walked in was Eudora's Dress shop. Tiana's mom was a seamstress in the movie and made dresses. So each guest for the party picked out a dress, and a mardigra necklace to wear for the party. All the necklaces are actually from New Orleans, where Tiana is from. My dad was there years ago and bought them for my girls. So we tied it in with the story. Fun!

I wanted to do something more personal for the girls. So i made gift bags. Each gift bag had a different picture of Tiana with their names on it. These were a hit!

Decorations were cheap and found mostly at the dollar store. Luckly these colors are easy to find. I made the placemats out of wrapping paper to mix the colors together. Was going to cut the plates into lily pads, but didn't have time. So if you are ever doing a party with this theme that would be a fun idea.
She wanted a cake that looked liked this. So a friend of mine who loves to make cakes offered to make her one. She did an excellent job, and it was delicious! Addy just loved it.
Tiana is famous for her Beignets in the movie. So I used powederd donuts to resemble what they look like. Kids love these, and they are Addy's favorite.
The day before Addy and I made butterfly rice krispie treats and mini chocolate dipped oreos. We colored them to match our theme.

Eating Mini pizzas, grapes, apples, and celery with peanut butter.

The games: This is a fan they got to make. Charlotte is Tiana's best friend, and so I told the girls of the scene in the movie where she gets all dolled up for the prince. This is what she looked like, and this is what she was holding in her hand.

Getting ready to play "Kiss the Frog". Pin the lips on the frog game.
Addy's turn.

The girls got make glitter lotion.
Since Louis plays Jazz, I thought it would be cute to call this game Jazzical Lilly pads. I then took green construction paper and cut out lily pads. The alligator head is a hat my teenage girls got from camp. How funny, how things around my house get used for different things.

I had played the soundtrack to the movie.

Here is a video of us singing Happy Birthday to Addy.

Present time!
All her friends gathered around her. So cute!

Prince Naveen and Charlotte from the movie.
She was pretty happy with her presents.
After the party these girls were being silly. So I took some pictures.
On our way to have dinner.

A green icee at her request.
She loved the merry go round.

This place was cool. A ship that was an activity area for little kids. Plus an arcade.
They had a blast.

The birthday party was a success. All 10 girls came to celebrate my little sweetie turn 4. She had such a great time... and Mom was happy, even to hear one of her little guest say, "this is such a great party." Dinner at pirate island was also a hit, so much better then Mcdonalds, or Chuck-E-Cheeses. Kids had a blast. Happy Birthday Adeylnn!!
Next August she will be turning 5 and has requested yet again another Princess party. What princess? Stay tuned.

Madison is ONE, Briana ONE Year older

Happy Birthday to our little Madison who turned ONE on April 3rd. Her birthday fell on a Saturday, and happened to be on General Conference weekend. So we decided to celebrate just as family and do something small. The girls were leaving back to California that evening, so I really didn't want to be rushed with time. So after the afternoon session of Conference, we ate dinner, and then celebrated with a Dessert I made for Briana (at her request), and Happy Birthday wishes to the both of them. Briana turned 14 the next day.
Ok, so I didn't make the cake. Me and the girls had gone out shopping, and on our way back, it tumbled over in the car. So we tried fixing it to make it look at least half way decent just for pictures... lol. It's all good, she is just going to devour it anyway right?

Briana my beautiful girl. I can't believe she is already 14.
