"The family, as we have traditionally known it, is such a refuge of safety. When true values and basic virtues undergird the families of society, hope will conquer despair, and faith will triumph over doubt". President Thomas S. Monson

Fun cooking in the Kitchen

A Kitchen Aid!!! YES!! The perfect gift from David on our Anniversary!
He knew just what I wanted. I got it just before the girls came to visit.
So it was just in time for us to cook and bake things together in the kitchen. These are moments that I treasure with my girls that have been growing right before my eyes. I feel I need to teach them as much as I can while they are here in the short time. Plus, kitchen time is quality time spent with my daughters as we cook, and bake to keep and remember old traditions, and of course to make new ones.
Briana and Alicia weaning the bread. I love the smell of fresh homemade bread in my home.

The table.... and the yummy food.

After Thanksgiving. The girls and I went shopping on black Friday. Something I don't normally do. It gets pretty crazy everywhere. We just went to Walmart at 12am in the morning, and didn't get home til almost 4am. The girls were so excited. We did find some really good deals.

Can't leave these two out of the fun. Addy and Madison likes to play with the dough too.

Christmas Fudge

This is now a tradition we like to do as a family around Christmas time... making Christmas Fudge Windows. Or as Dave and the girls like to call it, "Christmas Poo". I guess you can determine from the pictures as to why it has been called that. Anyway.. the girls love to make, and it is so good. Here Briana is rolling one of the logs to put in the freezer. Addy just loved to watch.
Here the girls are cutting it after it has been in the freezer for a few hours.
Can you guess who's hands those are?? Addy couldn't wait to dig into them.
