"The family, as we have traditionally known it, is such a refuge of safety. When true values and basic virtues undergird the families of society, hope will conquer despair, and faith will triumph over doubt". President Thomas S. Monson

Bridal Veil Falls

On Sunday we all took a drive 4 miles up Provo Canyon where there is a scenic byway called Bridal Veil Falls. Foaming water rushes off two levels and crashes to the base where the runoff joins the Provo River. At the bottom there is a small cold swimming pool.
The River is still running fast and is pretty high from all of the snow off the mountain. It lookes pretty cool, but very dangerous. Bridal Veil falls is not only a summer attraction. In the winter, an icefall just to the right of the falls attracts experienced ice climbers. The icefall has been aptly named the Stairway to Heaven.
It was nice to get out of the house with our air conditioning being broken over the weekend, and to enjoy the wonderful views and nice cool breeze. We saw lots of families with their dogs as well. A perfect place to go to see the magnificent creations of the earth with your family.
Here is a picture of our family
Briana, Chelsea, Hayley, sam, Alicia. You can see the high fast river behind them.
The three of them did a little rock climbing next to the falls. Hayley stayed behind to look after Sam.
Sam enjoying the refreshing cool water Dave and I swinging Addy as we started to head back home.
After we got home, we all made Mudslides for dessert. Mmmm so good, but oh so filling.
