"The family, as we have traditionally known it, is such a refuge of safety. When true values and basic virtues undergird the families of society, hope will conquer despair, and faith will triumph over doubt". President Thomas S. Monson

Timpanogos Cave

Mount Timpanogos is located just along the side of our house. Only a 10 minute drive to the trail up to Timpanogos cave. I hadn't yet seen the cave, so while my aunts were here for the week we decided to take the hike. We left early in the morning while my little girls were still sleeping. Dave stayed home with them. He had already been on the hike before with Alicia during girls camp a few years ago. It was a 1 1/2 mile hike, and took us about 45 minutes. It was a great hike with gorgeous views, and the cave was was really cool.
Here we are stopping to take pictures, not even half way yet. Good thing the trail was paved.
Alicia and Briana on some rocks along the trail. Alicia said the hike was much easier for her this time.
All of us at the half way point. You may not be able to tell, but most of us are sweating and out of breath.
We made it to the top early before the first tour. So we rested, hug out and had some snacks.
Being the first ones to see the cave, and because Alicia has been here before she got to open the door to the cave. She also got to turn on many of the lights from inside.
This is inside the cave. It was really dark and cold... about 40 degrees all year round.
We saw some really cool things inside.
This is the heart of the cave.
Take a look at these pictures and tell me what you see.
If you haven't guessed it This one is a Basset Hound.
Out the other side of the cave, and the end of our tour.
The valley where we live is right behind us.
